" K.B.M. was a breath of fresh air for me."

After giving birth and also getting injured & needing surgery, and still having to be the active parent, I fell into the loop of anxiety, depression, mommy mode, I basically was on autopilot. K.B.M. helped me realize I am a person first and helped me remember who I am, that self are is ok, and the passion I have for things outside of just being a mom. They helped me re-light the flame inside of me & inspired me beyond doula services.

While coverage varies, some health insurance plans, flexible spending accounts (FSAs), or health savings accounts (HSAs) may reimburse or cover doula services. We are in the process of working on medicaid reimbursement so stay tuned.  It’s advisable to check with your insurance provider for details.

It’s ideal to hire a birth doula early in pregnancy to benefit fully from their support throughout the prenatal period, labor, and birth preparation.

Postpartum doulas may help with feeding support, baby soothing techniques, sibling care, light household chores, meal preparation, and providing evidence-based information on newborn care and parenting.

A birth doula is a trained professional who provides physical, emotional, and informational support to birthing persons before, during, and just after childbirth.

A postpartum doula provides practical and emotional support to families during the postpartum period, which typically lasts several weeks to several months after childbirth.

Consider factors such as their experience, training, personality fit, availability for your due date, and their approach to supporting birth or postpartum care that aligns with your preferences.
